Below is a brief description of each of our classes that is offered. To enquire about a space please click here

Ballet is a wonderful class for all ages and levels. It may seem a more disciplined class, each class begins with exercises at the barre or in the centre as appropriate. At the moment it will be followed choreographed pieces and an opportunity for improvisation.

This is combination class in which dancers look at the technique of theatre craft and tap dancing. Which are often seen together in musicals and on stage.

In theatre craft, dancers study the technique needed for the theatre shows, musicals and pantomimes. In tap, dancers look at rhythms and footwork. Both also include the performance elements.

This is a special programme combining dance (in various forms), drama and singing to prepare students for performing on stage.

The dance programme focuses on the routines and choreography. It is recommended that our students take ballet, and ideally, tap and theatre also to compliment this class in terms of developing their technique. Routines are designed to fit into the storyline of the theatre project of the term and will involve mixing with singing sections and drama.

Our drama offering is designed to develop their scripted performances, as well as improvisation skills. Again the programme will fit into the theatre project of the term.

Commercial dance is the style you will see in concerts, live shows, music videos, movies and obviously commercials. There are a great many styles included in this category – hip hop, street, jazz, ballet, theatre even – basically something super exciting and super fun to do!

Freestyle is a modern and expressive style of dance using a mix of music.

Classes incorporate stretch and fitness and learning new routines. Dances can be fast or slow allowing dancers of all ages to use freedom of expression to enhance their style.

Modern Jazz incorporates varying rhythms and styles for fun musical interpretation.

Lyrical dance is a very emotive form of dance. Dancers learn routines to music that allows them to express themselves and emotions.

Contemporary dance, combines the strong and controlled legwork of ballet with modern dance’s stress on the torso, and also employs contract-release, floor word, fall and recovery, and improvisation characteristic of modern dance. Unpredictable changes in rhythm, speed, and direction are often used, as well. It sometimes also incorporates elements of non-western dance cultures

Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context.

Acro dance will involve studying and practising a range of tumbling, balances, tricks and acro moves, while safely developing the strength and flexibility to do the routines.
